Cindy McNeill-McDonald, MSN, R.N., FACHE, CPPS, CPHQ
Cindy McNeill-McDonald, MSN, R.N., FACHE, CPPS, CPHQ, has served as vice president, quality since May 2006. She was promoted to chief quality officer in December 2022. McNeill-McDonald is responsible for coordinating all corporate- wide quality and quality-related programs. This includes oversight and providing strategic direction for the clinical performance areas (includes infection control, employee health and patient safety), quality, regulatory preparation, utilization review and discharge planning, clinical documentation, medical staff services, case management and, ambulatory quality, risk management and worker’s compensation.
McNeill-McDonald earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration with a minor in business administration from East Carolina University. She joined FirstHealth in 1992 as assistant director, women & children’s services for Moore Regional Hospital. In 1996, she became director of performance improvement for FirstHealth of the Carolinas, which was followed with the appointment as administrative director of clinical performance in 1999. In 2005, McNeill-McDonald became chief operating officer/chief nursing officer for Richmond Memorial Hospital, now MRH-Richmond, where she served until being named vice president, quality.
McNeill-McDonald completed the Center for Creative Leadership’s Leadership Development Program and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the North Carolina Quality Association. She is a certified Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety Specialist. She is also Greenbelt Six Sigma Certified and certified as a Lean Facilitator.
