Experienced Physician Assistant Joins FirstHealth Family Medicine - Biscoe

Dale Patterson

BISCOE, N.C. – Dale Patterson, MPAS, PA-C, has joined FirstHealth Family Medicine – Biscoe as the new full-time provider. The clinic is located at 104 Professional Drive and is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Patterson has practiced medicine in and around Montgomery County for 22 years and is returning to full-time practice after teaching at Pfeiffer University’s Physician Assistant Program for the past five years. Patterson said he’s always felt a calling to serve those in rural areas since he received the National Health Service Corps Scholarship in PA school, which requires a three-year service commitment in an underserved population. He has remained involved in the local community and currently serves as the sitting chair for the Montgomery County Commissioners Health Advisory Board.

“This is a return to practice largely because I’m missing the patient interaction and taking care of people,” he said.

Patterson holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Certificate in Physician Assistant Studies from Wake Forest University’s Bowman Gray School of Medicine and a Master in Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He will continue teaching part-time at Pfeiffer University while working at FirstHealth Family Medicine.

Outside of work, he enjoys water sports, the beach, the lake, and spending quality time with his wife, Wendy, and their two children, Lily and Daniel.
