PA-C Joshua Perry Joins FirstHealth Interventional Pain Medicine - Rockingham

Joshua Perry, PA-CROCKINGHAM, N.C. -- FirstHealth Interventional Pain Medicine – Rockingham is proud to welcome certified physician assistant Joshua Perry to its care team.

Perry has worked in pain medicine for four years and previously worked at FirstHealth as a phlebotomy technician at MRH - Richmond before earning his master’s degree.

“I have learned a lot during my experiences working in interventional pain medicine. I’m excited to be able to finally practice and bring the knowledge that I gained to my home county in which I was born, raised, and where I've lived most of my life,” Perry said. “I really enjoyed my experiences and the relationships I made when working as a phlebotomist for the lab at the MRH-Richmond campus. It is a privilege to be able to work in the community that I call home.”

Perry earned his Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Methodist University and his Bachelor's in Biology from University of North Carolina Pembroke. Perry said his love of science and helping others led him to a career in medicine.

“I enjoyed biology and chemistry classes in high school and college, and I really enjoyed working with and helping others. The physician assistant career path sounded like the perfect match for me as I could move between different specialties,” Perry said.

“I remember shadowing with Dr. Kirk Hausenmueller at his Pines Quick Care and Family Medicine office in Rockingham in the summer of 2013. I enjoyed seeing him practice medicine and the relationships he formed with his patients.”

Outside of work, Perry enjoys gardening, foraging, hiking and spending time with his wife and two children.
