Administrative Fellowship Program

The FirstHealth Administrative Fellowship Program is a two-year experience comprised of a combination of project work, operations, and management experience. The Administrative Fellow will report directly to the CEO, have mentorship from an executive sponsor, and be supported by the leadership team throughout the system.

The Fellowship Experience

The administrative fellowship at FirstHealth of the Carolinas will report to the CEO and work closely with senior leadership offering immersion into healthcare administration and operations. The fellowship program offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives while developing leadership skills and gaining invaluable insights of healthcare management.

The FirstHealth Administrative Fellowship Program is a two-year experience comprised of a combination of project work, operations, and management experience. The Administrative Fellow will be mentored by an executive sponsor and supported by the leadership team throughout the system. In addition to executive mentorship, the fellow will participate in leadership and administrative council meetings. The Fellow will be exposed to all aspects of healthcare operations including operations, clinical, physician practice, strategic growth, support services and finance. The second year is spent in an area of interest and the fellow will continued to be mentored by the executive team.

Program Eligibility

Required

Candidates must be in the process of completing or possess a master’s degrees in healthcare administration (M.P.H, M.H.A., M.H.S.A., etc.), Business Administration (M.B.A) or equivalent (M.P.A.), or have completed a graduate program within the past three years.

Preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, including presentation skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Must work independently, take initiative to complete assigned projects with minimal direction, and be able to prioritize tasks within an assigned project.
