More Than a Gym
At FirstHealth Fitness, we go above and beyond the normal gym experience by offering state-of-the-art equipment and a professionally trained staff that believes exercise is medicine. Our personal trainers and fitness coaches have college degrees in the fitness field and a licensed dietitian is on staff, so you can rest assured you’re receiving quality information and guidance.
Our Exercise is Medicine program takes the expertise to the next level, allowing providers to refer patients to FirstHealth Fitness. In partnership with providers, patients meet with an exercise specialist to develop goals and an exercise prescription. The program is designed for people of all fitness levels, including cancer survivors, patients with diabetes and those looking to improve their heart health.
Our Locations
FirstHealth Fitness operates six centers in the Sandhills, with the flagship center located on the Moore Regional Hospital campus in Pinehurst. Other locations are in Southern Pines, Raeford, Sanford, Troy and Rockingham. Each center offers strength and cardio equipment, personal training and group exercise classes. Five of the six centers offer aquatics, including swim lessons and aqua aerobics classes.

Exercise is Medicine
Bobby Johnson
Bobby Johnson enrolled in the FirstHealth Exercise is Medicine (EIM) program after his doctor told him he may not make it another year if he did not lose weight. By the time Johnson graduated, he was down 45 pounds and no longer needed his wheelchair. He noticed exercise made a positive impact in other areas of his life, including better sleep, increased energy levels and improved mental health.
