How Can an Anesthesiologist Help Manage My Pain?

Our board certified anesthesiologists have specialized training in pain management and create customized treatment plans fitted to each individual's specific needs. We know a one-size-fits-all approach rarely works for pain management and we are committed to finding the treatment options best suited to you. Our team of physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners all work together with the shared goal of improving the quality of life for our patients.

What to Expect

Initial appointments might include one or more of the following: a physical exam, interview about your medical history, pain assessment and diagnostic tests or imaging. Improvement of chronic pain usually requires a combination of treatments including physical therapy, medications and interventional pain procedures.

Prior to scheduling you for a procedure, we will review your past medical history and current medications to ensure your safety. You will have time with our team to review the possible risks and benefits of each procedure before moving forward. Our goal is to make your experience as stress free as possible.

Some procedures do require sedation through an IV, which will require you to stop eating and drinking at midnight the day of the procedure. Certain medications, such as blood thinners, should be stopped in advance. You will receive a specific list of instructions before your procedure and our nurses will be available to answer any questions.
