Labor & Delivery

Designed to serve the unique medical needs of both mothers and babies, the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital Birthing Center combines the latest medical technology with the compassionate care of highly trained physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and other staff to assure that every patient care experience is a comfortable and secure one.

You will be assigned to a Labor & Delivery Room at Moore Regional Hospital, where experienced nurses will support and care for you as you prepare to deliver. Each of these rooms is equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring, a whirlpool tub and labor aids including Birthing Balls

Time for Baby, Where to go?

  • Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., patients should park in the parking garage and enter the hospital through the Cancer Center entrance. Take the purple elevators up to the second floor and follow the signs to Labor and Delivery Registration. If you are in any distress, enter through the Emergency Department and stop at the front desk for assistance, and they will provide you an escort to Labor and Delivery.
  • Between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., patients must enter through the Emergency Department, take the purple elevators up to the second floor and follow the signs to Labor and Delivery Registration. If you are in any distress, stop at the Emergency Department front desk for assistance, and they will provide you an escort to Labor and Delivery.
  • If entering through the Emergency Department, you may park your car in the Emergency Department visitor’s lot. If you are admitted to the hospital, your car will need to be moved to the main visitor’s parking lot.

What to take to the hospital?

The following is a list of suggested items to bring with you to the hospital when you deliver.

For Mom...

  • Personal toiletries (brush, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, makeup, hair dryer, hairspray, etc.)
  • Underpants (maternity)
  • Nursing/support bra
  • Robe and slippers
  • Going-home clothes (these should be maternity clothes)

For Baby...

  • Pacifier, if desired
  • Going home outfit (including socks/booties)
  • Car seat

Optional items:

  • Hat
  • Nail Clippers
  • Mittens for hands
