Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)

Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) is used mostly for the treatment of dependence to opioids such as heroin and prescription pain relievers that contain opiates. MOUD controls how the brain works by blocking the “feel good” effects of opioids, as well as relieves the cravings and regulates body functions without the negative side effects of the drug.
