Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect in my first session?
At your initial visit, the Registered Dietitian (RD) will learn about you, your past successes and challenges, and your current goals. Your dietitian will get some background health and medical information and ask some questions to gain an understanding of your current eating patterns. From there, the RD will put all the information together and work with you to come up with your own individualized nutrition plan.
How often do I meet with my dietitian?
Depending on your situation, the number of times you meet with an RD can vary from simply a one-time session to a few times per month, once a month, or every three months, etc. Some people just need to get a nutrition plan in place, while others need feedback, support, information sharing, and tweaking. People who have medical problems with a large nutrition component – like diabetes, obesity, food allergies, and gastrointestinal problems – may benefit from an ongoing relationship with an RD.
Does insurance cover my appointments?
We do not file insurance, so all appointments are self-pay. It is your responsibility to pay for your appointment at the time of your scheduled session.
