Care for the Whole Family
Our family medicine providers can treat all ages – from babies to grandparents, while our internal medicine specialists focus on teen and adult patients. All practices include health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling and patient education.
We diagnose and treat common acute and chronic health problems and medical conditions including complete medical histories, complete physician examinations, assessment of health status, routine lab testing, immunizations and family planning. To better serve you, the providers at our primary care practices see patients by appointment and also offer same-day appointments for acute illnesses.
Your primary care provider is your main health care provider, meaning they are the person you call for non-emergency health care needs. They can and often do the following:
- Preventive care, including physicals, routine health screenings and immunizations
- Diagnosis and treatment of conditions
- Help manage medications
- Refer to specialty care clinics when needed
- Coordination of care across the FirstHealth system
Appointment Information
Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled appointment and check in with the front office receptionist. We also ask that you bring the following items to your office visit:
- All medications you are currently taking
- Current insurance information, including your insurance card
- If you have more than one insurance carrier, please let us know which plan is primary
If you must cancel an appointment, please give us 24 hours notice of cancellation to avoid $25 fee. This will allow other patients to be scheduled for an appointment in your place.
Payment is expected at the time of service. You may pay by cash, personal check, Visa or MasterCard. Payment plans are available; see the patient accounts representative prior to your appointment for more information. FirstHealth Primary Care will file your primary and secondary insurance. However, all deductibles and co-payments should be paid in full at the time of service.
FirstHealth Primary Care providers accept assignment on all Medicare charges. Patients are responsible for their annual deductible and 20 percent of the allowable charges at the time services are rendered.
After-Hours Care
For after-hours and weekend care, FirstHealth offers Convenient Care locations in Moore, Lee, Randolph, Hoke, Richmond and Cumberland counties.
Video Visits Available at Family Medicine, Primary Care Clinics
Video visits allow patients to continue seeing their primary care provider when they need assistance with an acute care or chronic medical issue. Patients can begin the process with a phone call from a nurse and then have a live video chat with their provider. Like a normal office visit, providers who have relationships with established patients will be able to prescribe medications or schedule imaging or diagnostic work.
Galleri® Multi-cancer early detection test
Through a simple blood draw, the Galleri test looks at DNA in your blood to determine if any of it may have come from cancer cells. This test is available at some of our primary care locations. Learn more about this test and to see if you are eligible.
